Last year, The Asian Undergraduate Research Symposium (AURS) was unfortunately cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. IAFOR is happy to announce that this year, the symposium will be held in November both in Tokyo and online.
AURS provides undergraduates with the opportunity to present their research in a stimulating intellectual environment and prepare themselves for participation in conferences later in their academic careers.
IAFOR will also be accepting online poster submissions to accommodate students that are unable to attend in person. We are hopeful that the symposium will be able to take place on-site in November, but whatever the circumstances, the AURS Organising Committee is committed to providing an enriching and insightful experience for the participating students:
The 6th Asian Undergraduate Research Symposium (AURS) was originally scheduled to be held in 2020 – until COVID-19 intervened. What followed was a year where many, including academics and researchers, felt isolated and as though working in a vacuum. As we begin to emerge from isolation, 2021 is the time to build networks and share with others once more. We are thrilled to announce that this year AURS will be held on Saturday, November 27 in Tokyo, Japan. This one-day event gives final-year undergraduate students an exciting opportunity to present their research to peers and academics from all over the world, reconnect with the research community, and learn in a supportive environment.
We, the AURS Organising Committee, are reaching out to scholars and academics from all fields and disciplines to consider undergraduates in their network for participation in the 2021 symposium. The day-long event features a range of engaging workshop activities designed to improve presentation skills and techniques for handling Q&A sessions with finesse. The culmination of AURS2021 is a poster presentation during a special session of The Asian Conference on Education (ACE2021), one of the largest international interdisciplinary academic conferences in Asia. All student presenters who register for AURS2021 will also be able to attend ACE2021 as an observer on Sunday, November 28.
AURS2021 is a unique event that allows undergraduates to experience the benefits and challenges of presenting at an international conference, to share their experiences, knowledge and ideas with like-minded others, and to gain unique insights from respected experts, professionals and symposium leaders: a valuable experience that will set them apart from other students. Discover how your support of an undergraduate can benefit them in their future prospects.
We are very much looking forward to seeing your students in Tokyo in November!
The Asian Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held on November 27, 2021, in Tokyo and online. The Organising Committee is currently calling for posters to be presented at the event. Visit the Symposium website for more information.
