Dr Amanda Müller*

Biography

Dr Müller is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University in Australia, where she teaches English for Specific Purposes. She teaches courses related to healthcare communication, nursing English, and academic English. She also holds the post of Academic Integrity Coordinator in the Health Professions Teaching Program.

Among Dr Müller’s achievements are: top-three finalist for a national award for her computer game, two international quality badges for her computer games, two Vice-Chancellor’s awards (research, teaching), invited speaker on language testing and clinical communication issues, and consultant for multicultural aged care support. She is a TEQSA expert (national tertiary accrediting body) in the areas of International – Onshore, English for Specific Purposes, and Learning Technologies

Dr Müller has been involved in nine successful grants, and numerous teaching research projects. Dr Müller has worked in many multidisciplinary research groups and published on a diverse range of topics in top ranked international journals, such as Higher Education Research Development, Journal of Educational Computer Research, Clinical Simulation in Nursing, Medical Teacher, International Journal of Nursing Studies, Nurse Education Today, and Women & Birth, and Internal Journal of Pedagogies and Learning. She also a number of book chapters on educational gaming, a book on Scottish literary language ‘A Glasgow Voice’, and an edited book on academic literacy. She has is a reviewer for a number of journals and presented many times in international conferences. Dr Müller is constantly looking for new opportunities to conduct and disseminate research on teaching and learning.
