After almost two full years of closed borders, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the Government of Japan eased entry restrictions and is now accepting applications for foreign nationals to enter the country, including business travellers and those attending academic conferences.
IAFOR will work with the Japanese health ministry to facilitate the entry of conference presenters through the ministry’s Entrants, Returnees Follow-Up System (ERFS). Notifications of successful applications will be sent to IAFOR and then applicants will be able to apply for a visa at their nearest Japanese embassy or consulate.
This exciting news arrives as we approach the Final Abstract Submission Deadlines for our late spring conferences in Tokyo, and submissions open for our autumn conferences in Kyoto. If your submission is accepted, we will work with you to facilitate your entry into Japan.
