On Thursday December 19, 2024, Dr Joseph Haldane, Chairman and CEO of IAFOR, attended the Senato della Repubblica (Italian Senate) in Rome to participate in the book launch of the international edition of The Billion, which was recently published by the Dante Alighieri Cultural Association in association with IAFOR.
Edited by Ambassador Paolo Sabbatini Rancidoro, the book contains short essays, including one by Dr Haldane, as well as original commissioned artworks inspired by the ‘Travels’ of Marco Polo, known in Italian under the name of Il Milione (The Million).
The launch was hosted by Senator Francesco Verducci. Dr Haldane was among those invited to give a short address, where he spoke of the importance of education and cultural diplomacy in a globalised world.
