Women and Innovation: Challenges and Opportunities
Although women and men are both well-represented in the modern workplace, women appear to lag men in creativity and innovation-related achievements. The reasons for this phenomenon are likely to be multifaceted and complex; yet, as more women enter the workplace and inevitably exchange in innovation work, it is important to better understand gender dynamics in the context of creativity and innovation.
In this session, Professor Roy Chua will share the latest findings from his program of research wherein he and his collaborators seek to unpack the dynamics on how women innovate differently compared to men. Specifically, he will discuss how women select ideas for innovation and how they champion new ideas at the workplace.

Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore
Professor Roy Chua is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources, Associate Dean of Postgraduate Programmes, and Director of PhD and professional doctorate (DBA) programmes at the Singapore Management University (SMU) – Lee Kong Chian School of Business. He teaches primarily in the MBA, EMBA, PhD in Organisational Behaviour and DBA programs.
