Mr Jon Elford

Biography

Mr Jon Elford has combined education with business throughout his career, teaching business students in Japan and Europe and working in economic development for the State of Mr Jon Elford advises the Chairman and members of the IAFOR board on questions of integrity, ethics, assurance, and risk.

Jon Elford heads an internal audit function for BBC Media Action, an international development charity associated with the BBC. Jon has worked in international development in assurance, advisory, and investigatory roles for the last fifteen years, prior to which he was in external practice with KPMG, a professional services firm.

Jon holds degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford (BA., M.A.Hons) and International Relations from the University of Bristol (MSc). His professional expertise includes: assurance provision, charity governance, IT security, data protection, internal controls, security, and fraud investigation.

He has worked in, among other places: Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda, Ghana, South Sudan, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Nigeria, The Palestinian Territories, Ethiopia, & Nepal.

Mr Jon Elford is Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of the organisation.
