IAFOR Journal of Literature & Librarianship

Editor: Dr Melissa Kennedy
ISSN: 2187-0608 (online)

The IAFOR Journal of Literature and Librarianship is an editorially independent and internationally reviewed interdisciplinary journal associated with LibrAsia: the Asian
Literature and Librarianship. For more information about the associated conference, please click on the banner at the bottom of the page.

A small number of papers from the associated IAFOR conference proceedings are selected by the journal editor(s) for reworking and revising subject to normal processes of review. It is expected that between 5 and 10 percent of papers included in any given conference proceedings will be developed for inclusion in the associated conference journal. The editor may also commission pieces or accept articles from the open call, all of which must be subject to the same processes of peer review.

IAFOR's journals reflect the interdisciplinary and international nature of our conferences and are organized thematically. Editors may choose to issue one, two or even three volumes of a journal depending on the quality and range of submissions in the respective conference proceedings.

The 2011 Librasia conference theme, "Journeys of Discovery" was a departure point for papers exploring cross-cultural and international travels and the cultural and linguistic translations these entail. Essays on the circulation of travellers and texts between East and West take a common comparative approach, often with an eye for illuminating counter-histories, counter-narratives, and counter-interpretations that challenge stereotypes and dominant ideologies about East-West relations and cultures.
